Overview
Restrictive lung disease is a term for a condition in which a person has difficulty fully expanding the lungs with air. Causes include injury, surgical removal of part of a lung, obesity, sarcoidosis, muscular disorders such as muscular dystrophy, and scarring of the lungs (pulmonary fibrosis).

Treatment focuses on the underlying condition.
