Bleeding from the vagina that isn't typical or linked to menstrual periods.
When to seek immediate medical care
See a health care professional right away if:
- Pregnant.
- A lot of bleeding or bleeding that won't stop.
When to make a doctor's appointment
Make an appointment to see your care team if:
- Past menopause.
- No signs of periods starting or younger than age 8.
- Belly or vaginal pain.
- Bloated.
- Bleeding gets worse.
