Anne Nygaard, MS, FNP-C, AOCNP has been practicing at the Cancer Center since 2009 and assesses and treats all types of oncology and hematology conditions. She has additional training in cancer-related genetic syndromes and genetic risk assessment for germline genetic cancer testing. Anne is motivated by the patients she sees every day as they fight their cancer battle, whether they are curable or not, and believes in helping them through these very difficult times in their lives. She sees patients and families expressing their thanks and gratitude for the care provided to them, no matter the outcome, and this inspires Anne to give her all.
Anne has completed her Advanced Oncology Certification as a nurse practitioner (AOCNP) and is a member of Altru’s cancer committee. In her free time, she enjoys reading, attending UND sporting events and those of her children, spending time with her family, and traveling.
Philosophy of Medicine
"Every patient is treated equally. I think that including the patient and their family in their plan of care is very important. Also making sure the patients and their families understand their care and treatment in a language they can understand and receive the education to go along with their care."
