Luis Balarin, MD, is a family medicine resident at Altru. He is motivated and inspired by the opportunity each day brings to learn the best and most appropriate treatments for each of his patients. Outside of work, Dr. Balarin enjoys playing guitar, flying as a licensed pilot, and spending time with his wife and kids.

"My medical interests are rooted in full-spectrum family medicine - from caring for newborns to supporting the elderly. As someone with a large, multigenerational family, I deeply value continuity of care and the relationships that form over time. I am particularly drawn to working in a small community where I can truly get to know my patients and their families, become a trusted part of their lives, and provide comprehensive care across all stages of life. Being that go-to doctor in town, the one who’s there for everything from well-child checks to managing chronic conditions, is exactly the kind of physician I aspire to be.”
