Overview
Supraventricular tachycardia is an abnormally fast heart rate starting above the heart's 2 lower chambers (ventricles). It's caused by abnormal circuitry in the heart, usually present at birth.
Symptoms
There may be symptoms like heart palpitations or no symptoms at all.
Treatments
Certain maneuvers, medications, or implanted devices can help slow the heart.
