Overview

The bronchial tubes carry air to and from the lungs. When someone has bronchitis, the lining of the tubes is inflamed.

Coughing thickened mucus is a symptom.

Treatments

Chronic bronchitis, constant inflammation often due to smoking, needs medical attention.
