Cellulitis is a common and potentially serious skin infection caused by bacteria. The infection can be caused by bacteria entering a break in the skin.

Symptoms

Affected skin may be swollen, painful and warm to the touch. It may change color and spread rapidly.

Treatments

Without treatment with an antibiotic, cellulitis can be life-threatening.
