A growth on the inner wall of the uterus that's most often not cancer.

Overview

Endometrial polyps are growths attached to the inner wall of the uterus. Also called uterine polyps, they are most often not cancerous. Polyps are most common in people who are going through or have completed menopause.

Symptoms

Symptoms include vaginal bleeding after menopause, irregular periods and bleeding between periods. Some people have no symptoms or only light bleeding.

Treatment

Small polyps might go away on their own. Treatments include medicines and surgery.
