Overview
Hematoma is a collection of blood in an organ or tissue, usually from a ruptured blood vessel. A hematoma can occur anywhere in the body.
Symptoms
Symptoms can include swelling, bruising, and pain.
Treatments
Treatment for a superficial hematoma includes rest, ice, compression, and elevation. A hematoma in the brain might require surgery.
