Marfan syndrome is an inherited disorder that affects connective tissue — the fibers that support and anchor organs and other structures in the body. It affects the heart, eyes, blood vessels and bones.

Symptoms

People with the syndrome are usually tall and thin with long arms, legs, fingers and toes.

Treatments

Treatment includes medicines to keep blood pressure low, eyeglasses or contact lenses, and surgery.
