Myotonic dystrophy is a form of muscular dystrophy, a disease in which muscles weaken and damage easily.
Symptoms
Myotonic dystrophy features an inability to relax muscles at will. Other symptoms include cataracts and heart abnormalities.

Treatment, including medicines and physical therapy, can help manage symptoms.
