Overview
Prader-Willi syndrome is present at birth. It affects the hypothalamus, a part of the brain that controls hunger and thirst as well as growth and sexual development.
Symptoms
A key symptom is a constant hunger that causes many obesity-related complications. Poor muscle tone and distinct facial features also are symptoms.
Treatments
Treatment may include a supervised diet and hormone therapy.
