Overview
Sacroiliitis is a painful condition of swelling and irritation of one or both joints that connect the lower spine and pelvis, called sacroiliac joints. Causes include injury to the joints, arthritis and pregnancy.
Symptoms
Pain most often is in the buttocks and lower back. Sacroiliitis also can affect the legs, groin and even the feet. Certain activities can make it worse.
Treatments
Treatments aim to relieve pain. They can include medicines, muscle relaxers and exercises.
