Overview
Squamous cell carcinoma of the skin is a common, treatable form of skin cancer that develops in the thin, flat squamous cells that make up the outer skin layer. Too much exposure to UV radiation from the sun or tanning lamps is a cause.
Symptoms
It can appear as a firm bump, sore or rough patch on the skin.
Treatments
Treatments include topical medicines and minor surgery.
