Stenosis is the narrowing of an open space in the body, such as a blood vessel, duct or canal.

Depending on where it is and how much the space has narrowed, stenosis can restrict blood flow or pinch nerves, causing a wide range of symptoms.

Treatment ranges from replacing narrowed vessels to surgically widening narrowed spaces.
