Self-care
Self-care options include wearing an athletic supporter. Over-the-counter pain relievers, such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB) or acetaminophen (Tylenol, others), may help.
When to seek immediate medical care
Seek help immediately if:
- Sudden, severe testicle pain
- Redness or swelling of the testicle
- Fever or chills
- Blood in urine
When to make a doctor's appointment
Make an appointment to see a health care provider if:
- Mild pain lasting longer than a few days
- Lump or swelling in or around a testicle
