Altru Announces Several Promotions

Grand Forks, N.D. – Altru Health System is proud to announce several promotions throughout the organization.

Sara Dvorak | Director of Nursing Services and Clinical Education

Sara Dvorak has been promoted to director of nursing services and clinical education. Dvorak will be responsible for the management of clinical education programs and continuous learning, as well as the management of medical-surgical departments. She joined Altru in 2004 as a medical-surgical nurse, later serving as a patient care coordinator, clinical learning coordinator, and, most recently, manager of learning and organizational development. Dvorak graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor of science in nursing. She is a member of the Association for Nursing Professional Development. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and playing the piano.

Kari Jensen | Director of Compliance and Safety

Kari Jensen has been promoted to director of compliance and safety. She has been employed with Altru since 2001, serving as clinic nurse, inpatient medical/surgical nurse, hospice nurse, and case manager, most recently serving as manager of Home Health and Hospice. Jensen will oversee regulatory compliance, patient relations, emergency management, life safety, and safety and security. Jensen holds her bachelor of science in nursing and master of science in nursing leadership and management from Walden University. Jensen enjoys spending free time with family and friends.

Jodi Sorum | Director of Population Health

Jodi Sorum has been promoted to director of population health. She previously served as manager of case management, and prior to that, patient safety coordinator, a pharmaceutical representative, and social worker. Sorum earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from the University of North Dakota. In her new role, she will oversee case management, health coaches, pastoral care and home health, and hospice, as well as develop and implement long-range goals around population health that enhance services and support strong relationships with key stakeholders. Beyond the office, Sorum enjoys spending time with family, traveling, exercising, and cooking.

Shelley Bakke | Manager of Specialty Services

Shelley Bakke has been promoted to manager of specialty services. She received her associate’s degree in applied science and respiratory care from Northland Community and Technical College. Bakke has been with Yorhom for nearly 10 years, serving as a respiratory therapist, respiratory therapy coordinator, and supervisor. Outside of work, Shelley enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, going to kids’ activities, and visiting the lake in the summer.

Bethany Larson | Manager of Clinical Education

Bethany Larson has been promoted to manager of clinical education. Larson will provide oversight to the nurse residency program, assist with educational needs throughout the organization and collaborate with academic partners. Larson earned her associate’s degree in nursing from Minnesota State Community and Technical College in 2007 and graduated with her bachelor of science in nursing from Capella University in 2017. Larson has worked at Altru since 2010, as a staff nurse on the orthopedic medical/surgical unit, float pool, supervisor, and most recently, clinical education. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, camping, and spending time with her husband and children.

Amber Stokke | Manager of Altru Clinic in Devils Lake

Amber Stokke has been promoted to manager of Altru Clinic in Devils Lake, where she previously served as a supervisor since 2013. Stokke will oversee daily activities in the clinic and promote the growth of providers and services for the Devils Lake community. Stokke earned her associate’s degree in registered nursing from Lake Region State College. Outside of work, she enjoys watching her kids’ sporting events, boating, and fishing, and spending time with her family and dogs.
