Altru President Dr. Eric Lunn to Retire

Posted OnFebruary 25, 2019

Grand Forks, N.D. – Today, Altru Health System announced Dr. Eric Lunn, President, will retire in March 2019. Lunn has dedicated his entire 30 plus year career at Altru Health System to caring for children, mentoring colleagues, and helping lead the organization into a bold new era in care.

“Dr. Lunn has shaped Altru into the community-minded, forward-thinking organization it is today,” said Kris Compton, Chair of the Board of Directors. “Generations of children have grown up under his care, and he has mentored generations of physicians and providers to carry on his work. We are grateful for him as a physician, colleague, and friend.”

In 2017, Lunn stood alongside the leadership team at Altru to announce the building of a new hospital and expansion of services in the region, effectively launching Altru’s bold new era in care. He also worked to make sure Altru’s continued journey is not dependent upon any one person but rather a vision of care and service that guides the organization forward. Lunn stated he feels confident in retiring now to focus on spending significant time with family and friends.

“It has been an honor and privilege to spend my entire medical career at Altru,” said Dr. Lunn. “I have confidence that our executive leadership and our physician leaders are going to be successful in fulfilling our vision to provide world-class care to the residents of our region.”

“We are so grateful for Dr. Lunn and thank him for his vision and steadfast service to patients, our team, and our community,” said Brad Wehe, Chief Executive Officer. “We wish him the very best in the future.”

The executive leadership team, working in partnership with Altru medical directors, will ensure the responsibilities held by Dr. Lunn are fulfilled until his successor is selected.
