Altru Physician Jeff Eickman, M.D., Named Provider of the Quarter

Altru is pleased to announce Jeff Eickman, M.D., has been awarded the Provider of the Quarter for Q1 of 2022. Dr. Eickman is a family medicine physician who enjoys caring for all people, from pediatric to geriatric patients, and helping them with their medical issues.

“Dr. Eickman is a trusted provider for Altru and our community. He treats staff, patients and colleagues with respect and compassion. These traits have led to outstanding patient satisfaction and quality. He is very deserving of this award,” remarked Dr. Josh Deere, interim chief medical officer at Altru.

It is apparent Dr. Eickman’s patients notice and appreciate the respect he shows them.

“I always have a very good experience when going to the clinic. I’m happy with Dr. Eickman and his nurse, Debbie. They treat me with respect and answer any questions I have,” shared one patient.

Another patient wrote, “Dr. Eickman is a consummate professional. He respects my concerns and willingly answers my questions.”

Answering his patients’ questions is part of Dr. Eickman’s philosophy of medicine, “I treat the patient as I would want to be treated. It is important to me to take the time to answer their questions to the best of my ability.”

Dr. Eickman was born and raised in Grand Forks. He attended the University of North Dakota for medical school and completed his residency through the University of North Dakota Family Medicine Residency program. He has been with Altru for more than 21 years.

As a well-trusted physician, Dr. Eickman has many patients who have been with him for years.

“I have been with Dr. Eickman since he started his practice at Altru. I have faith in him and trust his judgment concerning my care. His nurse, Debbie, is a wonderful team member,” asserted a patient.

Another long-time patient of Dr. Eickman’s wrote, “Dr. Eickman is a great doctor who really cares about me. He always listens to me and gets me feeling better. I’ve been his patient for 18 years and love him and his staff.”

Jessica Strand, practice manager for family and internal medicine, expressed, “Dr. Eickman is first and foremost patient-centered. He takes the time to consistently go above and beyond for his patients. Dr. Eickman cares deeply for his patients, his team members and his colleagues.”

The Provider of the Quarter recipient is selected after reviewing survey results submitted by patients. Altru started this award in the summer of 2021 as a way to recognize outstanding care given by Altru providers.
