Altru Selects New Chief Financial Officer

Grand Forks, N.D. - Altru Health System announced today that Derek Goebel has been selected as the organization’s new chief financial officer (CFO), effective immediately. He has been serving as the interim CFO since January.
Goebel has been with Altru for the past 13 years. He has a broad range of experience within the organization, including roles in finance, business planning and performance improvement. Most recently, he served as the director of finance before accepting the interim CFO role.
“I am thrilled to welcome Derek Goebel to our executive team as we continue our focus on sustained financial performance and operational improvement,” shared Todd Forkel, Altru’s CEO. “Derek has been instrumental in Altru’s financial success amidst many headwinds in our industry. I am confident he has the skills and expertise to continue this work as CFO.”
Goebel has a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Bemidji State University, a Bachelor of Science in business management from the University of Mary, and a Master of Business Administration from University of Mary. He is a Veteran of the North Dakota Army National Guard who served 13 years, including two mobilizations. Goebel is a certified healthcare finance professional by the Healthcare Finance Management Association and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
