Community Open House at the Sunshine Hospitality Home

Posted OnJune 19, 2023

A loved one is sick in the hospital. Where does one stay to be close? A patient needs multiple days of outpatient treatment in Grand Forks, but expenses are quickly adding up. The Sunshine Hospitality Home is a place of comfort, compassion and convenience for patients and their families who must travel for healthcare needs.

The community is invited to attend a public open house at the Sunshine Hospitality Home (933 Duke Drive, Grand Forks) on Wednesday, June 28 from 1-3 p.m. There will be tours of the Sunshine Home offered every half an hour, educating people about the many amenities of the Sunshine Home and how it serves our patients and the people of our region. Refreshments will be served.

In July 2018, the Sunshine Hospitality Home opened its doors to its first guests. The Home was funded by numerous donors and businesses from across the region through the Sunshine Memorial Foundation. Named for Shannon “Sunshine” Larson, who passed away in 2007 at the age of 31 from heat stroke, the impact of this Home has been great. In 2022, 3,442 guests received 4,938 nights of comfort. There were 168 guests who traveled more than 200 miles for their care.
