Corner Home Medical to Purchase Yorhom Medical Essentials

Posted OnFebruary 05, 2024

Grand Forks, N.D. - Altru has reached an agreement with Corner Home Medical to purchase their durable medical equipment program. Currently, these services are provided by Yorhom Medical Essentials, a part of Altru Health System.

“Altru continuously reviews the services we offer to ensure our patients receive excellent care while we remain efficient in our operations,” shared Todd Forkel, Altru’s chief executive officer. “At times, that means partnering with organizations who are experts in a specific area of care. Corner Home Medical has aligned values to our organization and has the resources to best support those with durable medical equipment needs.”

Corner Home Medical, a full-line durable medical equipment company, will assume the operations of Yorhom on March 1, 2024. Altru will maintain home infusion therapy services previously provided by Yorhom.

“We are very excited to have the opportunity to work with a fantastic and reputable organization such as Altru,” shared Jesse Neumann, an owner of Corner Home Medical. “Everyone in the organization has been wonderful to work with. We look forward to building a strong, successful, and mutually beneficial relationship to help serve the communities and people throughout the Altru network.”

As part of this transition, Yorhom employees will be offered employment with Corner Home Medical. All current Yorhom locations will remain open under the Corner Home Medical brand, with services for those currently under equipment rentals continuing with Corner Home Medical.

“We have been proud to provide these services to our community for many years,” expressed Forkel. “We have also been honored to employ the talented team of professionals at Yorhom who are dedicated to making life better for their patients. We are confident that Corner Home will carry on that commitment.”

The Corner Home Medical Story

Our company is an industry leader within the home medical equipment and supplies market, serving Minnesota, western Wisconsin, northern Iowa, and the eastern Dakotas. Our story is unique and the result of two-family businesses merging to provide the very best in customer service with outstanding products that perform.

Corner Home Medical was established in 2015 by two family-owned and operated businesses. The Steinhauser family started a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) business out of the family drug store in 1995. The Neumann family operated a similar business since 2001, specializing in complex respiratory equipment and retail DME sales. Both of our families shared a common goal: to keep the operation family owned and operated while expanding our operational footprint – and maintain the intimate personal service we are known for. Today, both families serve on the board and continue to focus on company growth with our vision, core values and mission guiding the way.

Corner Home Medical carries a full line of home durable medical equipment from hospital beds to mobility equipment to CPAP and ventilators. We take great pride in being Minnesota’s premier provider for complex respiratory equipment. Corner Home Medical is committed to maintaining our leading position in an ever-changing industry. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our operation. We are eager to understand and serve your unique durable medical equipment needs.
