Grand Forks, N.D. - Altru Health System has selected Tanner White as the CEO of the future Altru Hospital in Devils Lake.

“Tanner brings a deep understanding of rural healthcare and a strong track record of strategic leadership,” said Todd Forkel, CEO of Altru Health System. “His experience, vision, and commitment to community-centered care make him the ideal candidate for this role.”

White, a native of Ellendale, North Dakota, spent seven years at Avera Health, where he held several leadership roles. He served as Vice President of Network Operations, acting as a liaison between Avera Health and the boards of several Critical Access Hospitals. During his tenure, he also played a key role in expanding specialty care services and overseeing strategy for regional clinics and occupational medicine programs. White also served as Director of Therapy Services and Regional Manager of Philanthropy, focusing on building community relationships and supporting healthcare initiatives.

“I am excited to join Altru and the team in Devils Lake,” said White. “I am honored to help make a difference in the Lake Region.”

White holds an MBA in Health Care Management from Capella University and a BS in Human Performance and Fitness from Northern State University. He is also a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Altru is currently in the process of acquiring the hospital in Devils Lake from CommonSpirit Health. White will serve as CEO upon finalization of the acquisition. The two organizations continue to work closely together to ensure a seamless transition.
