Cancer Treatment Financial Assistance for Patients & Families

Undergoing treatment for cancer can present physical and emotional challenges, but concerns about being able to afford treatment and associated expenses, such as transportation, shouldn’t be an extra source of stress. A variety of cancer treatment financial assistance for patients and families is available to help reduce or eliminate worries about the costs of care, whether patients have health insurance or are uninsured.

At Altru, members of our oncology patient navigation department can help connect patients and families with the many resources and cancer treatment financial support available to them on the national, state and local levels, such as our county social services agency. Government programs and financial assistance programs are available to help with everyday expenses and those related to cancer care, such as groceries or transportation to appointments.

We believe in the importance of focusing on health, not money. We want our patients to feel as well as possible so they can concentrate on overcoming cancer, and an important part of that is reducing expense-related stress. That’s why we offer two programs that provide financial support to patients: Filling the Gap and the Farrah Fawcett Fund for Patient Assistance.

Filling the Gap Grants

A grant program made possible by charitable donations, Filling the Gap is designed to reduce the financial burden of treatment for patients with cancer and their families. The program is supported and maintained by generous donors, with 100% of all donations directly benefiting eligible patients.

For more information about the Filling the Gap program, call 701.780.5400.

Farrah Fawcett Fund for Patient Assistance

The Farrah Fawcett Fund for Patient Assistance is available through the generosity of the Farrah Fawcett Foundation. The foundation is committed to honoring late actress and model Farrah Fawcett’s fight with cancer by passionately giving to patient assistance funds for individuals facing mounting expenses during cancer treatment. Patients are eligible for assistance if they meet the financial criteria set by the grant and are accepted upon review of a completed financial eligibility form.

For more information about the Farrah Fawcett Fund for Patient Assistance, call 701.780.5400.
