Travis Waswick, MD
Travis joined the program in 2023 after practicing as a family medicine physician in Mayville, ND for five years. He received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed residency training at Altru Family Medicine Residency. He stays busy spending time with his wife and four children and enjoys cooking and scuba diving.
Heidi Philpot, MD
Heidi joined the program in 2006 after completing her residency in Grand Forks. Originally from Grand Forks, she received both her undergraduate and medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She has a special interest in obstetrics. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, relaxing at the lake, and faithfully (and sometimes painfully) cheering on Minnesota professional sports teams.
Joshua Greene, MD
Joshua joined the program in 2020. He received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed his residency and sports medicine fellowship in Grand Forks. Dr. Greene enjoys spending time with his wife and kids and is an outdoor enthusiast, particularly hunting and fishing.
Andrew Gasparini, MD
Andrew joined the program in 2012 after completing his residency. He received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences and is a native of Grand Forks. Dr. Gasparini enjoys all aspects of family medicine, including obstetrics, geriatrics and sports medicine. When he is not providing care for your family medicine needs, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids.
Elizabeth Gray, MD
Elizabeth joined the program in 2020 after practicing at Altru Family Medicine Center for two years. She received her medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed her residency in Grand Forks. She is the OB Fellowship Director and has a special interest in obstetrics and women’s health. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and kids, reading, cooking, and playing volleyball.
Greg D. Greek, MD
Greg has been with the program since 1992. Dr. Greek served as program director from 2003-2013 and is now an assistant director. He received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and completed his residency in Grand Forks. He has a special interest in sports medicine. When Dr. Greek is not working, he enjoys woodworking, reading and fishing.
Fallon Hoverson, MD
Fallon has been a member of the faculty since 2016 after practicing for two years at Altru Family Medicine Center. She is a North Dakota native and received her medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Her areas of interest include obstetrics, women’s health and pediatrics. In her free time, Dr. Hoverson enjoys spending time with her family, gardening and spending summers at her family lake home.
Derek Lyste, MD
Derek received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed his residency training in Grand Forks in 2010. After practicing at Altru Family Medicine Center for four years, Dr. Lyste joined the program as an assistant director in 2014. When not at work, Dr. Lyste spends time at the lake with his wife and two daughters.
A. Marc Nielsen, MD
Marc joined the program in 2012. Dr. Nielsen pursued his medical school education at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and completed his residency training in Grand Forks. Dr. Nielsen is married with four sons and enjoys hunting and fishing with his family, cooking and athletics.
Adam Quinn, MD
Adam is a board-certified family and sports medicine physician with a passion for resident education, comprehensive primary care, and point-of-care ultrasound. He completed his residency training in family medicine and a fellowship in sports medicine before joining Altru’s Family Medicine Residency faculty. Dr. Quinn’s clinical interests include musculoskeletal medicine, diagnostic and procedural ultrasound, and promoting wellness through active lifestyles. He works with patients of all ages in both the clinic and sideline settings and enjoys mentoring residents in developing practical, evidence-based skills for community practice. Outside of medicine, Dr. Quinn is an avid mountain biker, photographer, outdoor enthusiast, and enjoys spending time with his wife and three children exploring the region's parks and trails.
Jamie R. Roed, MD
Jamie joined the program as a faculty member in 2005. He received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed his residency in Grand Forks. Dr. Roed is a native of Devils Lake, ND and in his free time enjoys rollerblading, biking and spending time with his family.
Macey Hanel, PharmD
Macey joined the program in 2021. She is a graduate of the North Dakota State University School of Pharmacy. She also completed a pharmacy residency in Fergus Falls, MN at Lake Region Healthcare. She was born and raised in North Dakota and has a passion for bringing pharmacy services to the people in her community and participating in the education of future healthcare professionals. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and traveling internationally with friends.
Catherine Yeager, PhD
Catherine joined the Altru Family Medicine Residency in 2001. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from UND and completed her internship at Children's Hospitals Minneapolis. Dr. Yeager's specialties include family therapy, infant/toddler assessment, and pediatric neuropsychological assessment.
Shyla Muse, PhD
Shyla joined Altru Family Medicine Residency as a co-director of behavioral science training in 2013. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of North Dakota and completed her internship at the Child and Adolescent Service Center in Canton, Ohio. Dr. Muse's specialties include pediatric therapy and neuropsychological assessment.
